Default pre order from best buy

if I bought one of the preorder packages from Best Buy, do I have to take it back to Best Buy to upgrade it to a collectors edition or deluxe edition?

Or can I take it to any store for replacement? Or is this even an option?

to get credit for what you paid for the preorder you have to go to where you got it

each place has its own store policy

If you go in and just tell them the situation. You pre-ordered Guild Wars a while back, but now they have announced a Collector's Edition, and you are wondering if they can change your order to the Collector's Edition.

They should tell you that they will gladly change it(its costs more, so they make more). Simple as that, so long as you talk to a competitant person. The only other problem I can see is that they won't have the ordering information for it yet.

Default I bought a preorder without specifying

The only thing Best Buy knows is that I want Guild Wars.

You should have no problem unless you decide that you want the Bow/Hammer/....

so how does this work then? Will I have to take my receipt back in, or the box and just pick whatever version I want when it becomes available?

take your receipt back in with you when you go to pick up the actual game...regardless of whatever store policy the retailer has, your best option is to ALWAYS save and have your receipt handy as proof of purchase.

best buy requires the receipt, although i have heard that the box may work as well..
if you have neither, you can still get them to look up your receipt if you paid with a credit card or possibly check..

A little segway from this... but is the Deluxe version the same as the Collector's Edition? The price being significantly lower at Best Buy than anywhere else made me unsure (59.99). (and it only listed half of the collector's edition items)
